I'm thinking you want to use this on your wire looms though? If so, remember, the SS braid is not slit along it's length as regular wire loom material so you would have to be able to slide the SS overbraid over the wires from the end. In some cases, that may not be possible as the wires in question have a large connector on the end and even though the SS overbraid will expand somewhat, even if it could expand enough to go over some of the large connectors, it would not go back to it's original diameter and would then look like rat's a$$
Also remember that quite often there are wires that branch out of the main loom at various places along the loom. With split loom it's easy to accomadate this - with a SS overbraid that is essentially one long tube - it would be virtually impossible.
I thought about doing this quite some time ago - but gave up on the idea because of the reasons I mentioned.
