IVE seen a silver one in person before... and it didnt look bad... but just isnt my flavor... ive also seen a carbon fiber one... it looked nice aswell.. but i dunno.. just something bout it that i cant get myself to do it.. i guess i dont like it enough.. id rather spend my money on GO GO stuff 
I don't think the Camaro would be able to pull this off. The TA can if done well being at the bottom of the car (CETA style) but even that looks somewhat off. I think black is best left alone.

Flat black looks okay if you must Berger-ize your black Camaro. I think it looks unfinished. GetGone, I think your setup sounds tasteful. The stripe with the panel would look good. However, just a lone panel would look like its primed and ready to be painted. Even on the Berger cars, I think they should've gone with gloss black. Mine is gloss black, and it looks like it came that way from the factory, not from some high school kid with a can of spray paint and 15 minutes to kill...
I didn't flat black mine because I didn't think it looked that good at first but after seeing a few black cars with it flat blacked and polished stainless inserts it does look pretty good. I'll probably keep mine gloss because I don't like how the panel ends and the rear of the 1/4s start with an abrupt line.
