Stripes on the driver side fender

wasn't sure where to post this, and the search is broken right now

but i am looking for pics of cars with the two stripes on the driver side fender(at an angle). anyone know what i'm talking about? i remember hearing a story about it orgins but i forgot alot of it. something about a guy used it to notice his cars better in races(correct me if i'm wrong).

they are the corvette GS stripes i believe, and you can get them from fourthcircledesigns.com

im not the biggest fan of them, but there are a select few cars that i think they look awesome on
