Any way to stop the interior door panels from cracking?
So my driver's side door panel up at the very top by the window and about even w/ my shoulder when I'm sitting down has a crack that began about 6 months ago. I noticed the other day that the passenger's door now has the same crack only a little smaller. One is a little over 1" and the other maybe 1/2" long. Is there any way to stop the cracks from getting any longer or is the only solution to replace the panels and have the same thing happen 5 years down the road? Oh and the car has 56K miles so it's not like it's seen a LOT of interior wear.

Search function, ..., Well-known problem.
Remove the 'staple' in the area of the cracks if you get new panels.
Some people say that you shouldn't put the window in the full-down position, as you can see the door panel 'flex' when the window is going down that last couple inches.

Here's a huge thread on this topic that I've stickied in the Pontiac Firebird Forum: https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-firebird-1967-2002/440767-cracked-interior-door-panel-don-t-quote-pics.html
