Default headliner interuppted

(89 firebird)
I was trying to figure out what kind of fabric i could use on my headliner is there a sepcific cloth or just go to hobby lobby and buy some black cotton length and use the headliner adhesive? I dont know but Ive seen it done on some car modding shows and they seem to just have yards and yards of the stuff...anyone know I mean the foam that goes underneath the liner is pretty beat too..any comments on how to make a new one cause Id like to put a graphic in the head liner also, say the bird, convex.

There is a specific fabric that is used on Headliners. It has the foam attached to the fabric. You can get it from an upholstery supply shop and it doesn't cost too much.

I checked this thread because my '94 LT1 is starting to have headliner issues. I always drive my '02 with the tops off so I know eventually I'll need a good solution on my Firehawk.

I guess I should just take it an upholstry shop huh?

Most of the time when the headliner starts to sag it has to do with the weather effects on the foam. Once the foam starts to break down the fabric will drop down. It's pretty simple to do but it just takes some time. Make sure you use some good glue. I did one for a customer and tried a new glue that the guy at the supply shop suggested and it started sagging after a week. I'm glad I still had it and could redo it before the customer picked it.
