Well Berger Hot Rod cars got red leather inserts in them as well as Xtaz's Electron Blue Berger. The Dick Harrell cars have suede inserts in them. I don't know how well suede wears. I guess it would depend on the quality and thickness of it.

It's really your personal preference, but I would go with all black leather it looks much nicer then 2-tone.

my interiror is half suede half leather.

i have no complaints whatsoever other than it can get dirty very easily.

other than that, i love it, and get TONS of compliments on it.

Yes, I was thinking of going with Black Suede inserts with my tan leather interior. Think it would be sweet. I think that the black and red would look good on your Z. just my .02

Here's a sample of black with red inserts.

I had the # of bars reduced to only 4 and had the outlines done with a double red stitch.

The only thing I don't like about custom seats is how sometimes it looks like the covers are all loose on the seats (no offense perfect z28) whereas the stock leather is nice and tights w/ no big wrinkles. The suede would be really nice but I have no idea how that stuff wears.

theres a difference between custom seats, and seat covers.

seat covers will almost ALWAYS look loose and cheap.

the best thing to do is go to a shop and have them completely re-wrap the seats in the pattern/fabric you want (thats how mine were done, not loose at all, it looks like it came from the factory that way)

No offense taken, my interior was done at a custom shop., I took the pic of when they were still being fitted...they fit fine after they added some foam to the actual seats.

I know what you're saying but its not limited to high dollar shops. A good upholstery man will have near perfect quality.

I know I could have got better quality if I had went to a better shop, but I would have had to paid a lot more...besides, I really just got these seats as a temp job for my real interior plans. I'm not upset at the quality, hell, I only paid $330 for all 4 seats, door panels.

NBMgreg, not bad for free.

eh... i wouldn't say "free"... i just didn't fork money out for the seats to be done like that, bought the car with them done... i actually thought it was a factory option when i got it, because the rest of the car was completely untouched, i soon learned that the prev. owner did THAT, and nothing else, which was perfect, stock car with a nice interior lol.

yes it is an i paid $170 a seat. It was locally done. I didn't have the money to spend to send them to a huge reupholstery shop, they turned out really well. The guy added extra padding and everything. Suede doesn't like to breathe but damn it looks cool!
