Microfiber towel problem
does anyone else have a problem with microfiber towels putting light scratches or swirlmarks in there paint. I have been trying to detail my car all weekend and seem like im just putting more swirls inthe paint with these microfiber towels. I pick them up at places like walmart or autozone, Advancedauto. am i using the wrong towels i know on Zaino website he is totally against them but so many people use them with out anyproblems. I was them reguarly dont lay them on the ground and keep them in a plastic bag to prevent them collecting dust and dirt. I saw that Brilex solutions was a sponser on here mabey i ought to pick up some items from them.
Anyone else have this issue?

It's the cheap microfiber towels, they aren't a consistant quality, some are good some are not so good, try pakshack for some good quality microfiber towels, or do a search under ZaneO hes given some recommendations of places to get good quality towels
Or you could do like I do, dry the car with an electric leaf blower, no scratches as you never touch the car

I don'y know about the quality of mine (about 3$ each) but they tend to leave a lot of short fibers on the paint when I apply Z6. They don't leave swirls though.

Try the cd test before you use it. And if your going to wash it. Only use woollite or spray some shout on it and let it air dry.

I must second the leaf blower. If your car is well waxed, the water just flies right off and you dont have to worry about the mirrors, rear bumper area or any of the light lenses retaining water and dripping forever. Or even touching your car with anything.

yeah i have noticed that about my towels. (what can you expect from walmart) at least i know now, what it is. So i will ditch those and get something of some better quality and see if that help my car. A black car shows EVERYTHING!!

There is a large difference between chain store micro fiber towels and quality micro fiber towels from places like www.properautocare.com, www.brilexsolutions.com, or www.griotsgarage.com.
You get what you pay for when it comes to towels for your car.
