There is a bit of degradation but not much..I doubt that you'd notice it. Allot depends on where you live. If your in Kansas , Oklahoma..ie flat places.. (line of sight and all that kind of stuff) ..your not going to have as much a problem as we do here in San Diego..lots of hills and valleys

To determin teh correct length you can shorten an antenna there's a formula that has to do with std radio waves amplitudes and frequencies....and its too early for met to get into...

Easy as pie and yes it will work.
... I did it to my '02 two weeks after I picked it up.

You'll have to bend part of the power antenna bracket 45*, tap into two amplifier wires and extend a plastic tube for drainage.
It'll take you 30 minutes, max to do it.

You can pick one up at a junkyard, in the for sale section, eBay or even the stealership.

There are writeups out there.

Bought mine off ebay for $13 shipped. I'm not really a fan of it. Eventually I'm gonna break down and buy one from bitvyper.

Great!

So thinner would be better?...Ok....

Thin like the trimed down stocker or just generally thinner.

Withteh trimmed down stocker its almost invisable..I could see wher that would be a good thing...

Just working on my design..Thanks for your input!

BitV, I'll throw in my opinion and say that I like mine just as I received it. I find that given the fact it is a thick antenna, it sits atop and matches the base perfectly and looks like it should have come that way from the factory.

I would have to agree with him! The BitViper antenna is great and really does look like it should have came on the car..
