Winter wash?
Winter wash? What do you guys do during the winter to wash your car? I am a busy college student, no time nor the money to wash the car and its too cold out to do it myself. Do you just keep it in the garage/street and not wash it? go to the car wash? or still go out in the freezing cold to do it yourself? Just curious and want to see what you guys do.
NEVER take your car to a car wash. They used recycled water and your T-tops will leak because they can't deal with that kind of water pressure. Just wash it how you normally would, but on a cold day washing a car does get a little easier. Because it is colder out, water and soap doesn't immediately evaporate, so you can really coat the whole car in one shot if you do it right.

I do one of two things. If its not to cold, I will do it at home. When it is real cold, I go to the nearby spray off place with a bucket of soap and some quarters. Its nice cuz it has heated water, so the soapy water doesn't freeze on the car before you can spray it off. Two things I never do is a drive thru wash or use the brushes in the self serve places. Saw an idiot using a brush up in his wheel wells on a pick up. Felt sorry for the next guy to use it.
great thread. i was just wonderin about that today. thank god over here in good ole memphis we have one day in the 60s and the next day in the 30s. im gonna have to catch one of those warm days to wash my car.

i live in houston so it doesnt get that cold. and if it does its only for a few days. fortunately(sp?) i dont have to deal with the salt issue. as a matter of fact i waxed my car a few days ago

I live in PA and here it's in the 30's, and it has been like that for a while. What sucks about washing the car is that I have to have a lot of clothing on and that doesn't help the wash
