removing antenna

Default removing antenna

hey guys, quick question, how do i remoove that lil boot under the antenna. ya kno, the piece thats on the actual qtr panel...

You remove the antenna then the boot will just pull off.

just grab hold and lift straight up??

The antenna needs to be removed from inside the car. As you have a TA there is one bolt that holds the antenna in. Remove that and disconnect the antenna lead and the harness and pull the antenna down. Once the antenna is out just grab the boot from the outside and pull it off. You will have to remove the spare tire to get to the antenna though. I know as I just put a power TA antenna in my Z

i actually have an 01 Camaro SS...

The screen name is for my 86 t/a

so, same thing? or do i juist grab it and pull straight up?turn it?

Yes, first you unscrew the antenna mast from the base then you remove the trim panel on the passenger side hatch area, remove the spare tire, unhook the antenna lead, unscrew the single screw holding an antenna base in and pull the base straight down. It helps if you turn and wiggle it a bit. Once the base is out just grab the boot and pull it off from the outside. You can also guide it out by placing one hand under it from inside and pushing it up while pulling it out from the outside with the other hand. This proceedure is the same for any 98-02 Camaro, Z28, SS. TA's are basically the same as well except you have a power connector to unhook.
