Will this break my dash?

Will this break my dash? I'm thinking of mounting an Autometer Pro Series Level 2 shift light on my dash. Will this hold up under hard shifting or will it break my dash?
I plan on buying the ebony dash piece off ebay & keeping my current piece so I will have an extra one without holes that I can keep if I ever sell my car or get rid of the shift light.
Sorry if this thread is under the wrong section.
Any ideas on how to mount it to look the cleanest and supported enough so the light won't crack the dash or move under hard shifting?
