i have a 99 trans am that i want a mecham hood for but i have shyed away i dont think i need to go into why. Im seriously considering purchasing one of their newly designed hoods now after speaking with them on the phone the other day. we started talking about their 6-port extractor hood for my 94 v-6 and how they would think about sponsoring me becuase theyre rare. I said i was very interested and he told me to check their site for pics. i checked. None there. i called back and they said they were emailing me some. But 1 1/2 weeks and 3 phone calls later still no pics. i think theyre computers screwed up cause i was on the phone with them when they sent me one and ive gotten text mails from them. Anyway- anyone have pics of the 6-port extractor hood for 93-97 firebirds? or the 4-port extractor hood for 93-97 camaros? i think he said the camaro had 4 ports forgive me if im wrong. id really like to see them and i dont understand why theres none on their site

i just installed a mecham hood and im am very much pleased, slight waves but no more than the average aftermarket hood before paint prep.

 

yea cause you have a camaro. firebird hoods are a lot different. i found a pic on google and wasnt impressed its not even a ram air hood. i love love love his design why cant he make it quality?

I was interested in it as well a couple of years ago, but at over $1k+shipping, and it isn't even carbon fiber, let alone with a lot of the complaints people have had over thier other hood offerings, I just couldn't bring myself to take the risk...

If you do get one, please post pics of it as shipped, installed, and then painted...

Personally the damn bird in all the pics I could find of it is too damn distracting to tell just how well the front of the hood looks...

yea same here all pics had that stupid bird. i also love the spoiler for all firebirds trans ams and verts. is the quality and fitment as crappy for these as the ls1 bird? i know his camaro and corvette and tahoe parts havnt had many problems, at least not that ive heard of

 

Found some mecham birds on my comp. I take it that the mecham hood arent availabe for LT1?

 

I have had a mecham hood now for almost a year with no quality control issues even not really any issues from the mold anymore.

 

are there multiple spoilers available? I've seen one that looked like factory just extended, one with a curled-up lip and one that curled down...

Dude, PLEASE stop posting every single pic in your collection on every page you post on... It has become HIGHLY annoying, especially when (in this case) a bunch of the pics don't even show what is being discussed (point in case, there are pics where the rear spoiler are hard to see or aren't even in the pic at all)...
