Here is a great write up with pics for the headlight switch. It is pretty simple once you get into it.

That is the right LED. I just got the whole kit from ledgauges. You have to solder the LED into the location of the headlamp switch bulb. Use the link that was placed on here. That is a good right up on how to do it.

I think the difference you are seeing is that the LED in the writeup is a 5mm with a flat end and yours are 3mm with a round end. Other than that you should be good to go.

I too have this kit on my '96 Z28 as their guages are a bitch to see. I LOVE them on it. Nice and bright and can see everything. You will need to order a couple extra bulbs as the earlier models have 7 bulbs instead of the 5 that come with the other kit i found out the hard way and had some dim spots. I don't have pics yet but when my car is done in the spring with all the goodies i'll put up a post and ***** my baby out.lol Can't wait~Cole~

Now this is bad ***. Still shows needles as red and tells how to do it. Also gives other options for LED's. What size LEDs do you need to get to switch them out -Trans AM-

how would the odometer look w/ the hyperwhite??

After seeing this thread.. i think i'm going hyperwhite all-out.

does the hyperwhite look that same blue everywhere else (dome light, hvac, etc.) or does it look blueish because of some sorta film on the gauges?

I have the hyperwhite in the headlight switch and the hvac, and it has the same blueish tint as the gauges.
