removing front bumper insert?

removing front bumper insert? ok so i got a billet grille for my '01 ss but i can't figure out how to get the plastic bumper insert removed. i tried searching the forum for that topic but everyone was saying that you just gotta rip it out. i got the side and bottom loose but the top seems to have something extra holding it in. i was pulling but started to hear cracking so i stopped.
any suggestions?

Rip it out "only" if it has the factory finish, the factory finish will not crack from flex/distortion like aftermarket finishes will. There is no finish as tough as the factory finish when it comes to bumper covers, even when a flex agent is used.
ine asy to fallow steps...
1 get all the tabs out
2 put your hand toward the top tabs for a little bit of bracing
3 have your friend turn on very very loud music as you turn your head away and close your eyes...
4 pull as hard as you can
ive pulled out at least 6 or 7 grills that way
