not to high jack this thread but where is the write up for tinting the tailights with VHT? it's not in the hall of fame.

Yea, just masked them off & didn't remove the masking till after the clear coats. Here is the write up i used.

mayb a stupid question. Do you have to take the tailights apart then RTV them back together? or just VHT the outside? thanks.

I personally prefer the night shades (obviously). It shows more light, has never gotten me pulled over, the covers can be stolen, and they can also melt to the light housings. But to each his own.

Just VHT the outside. Read the write up. It's really easy, just be sure to do light coats and let each coat get sticky before doing the next, as to avoid the VHT from running.
