Got my calipers painted. Look!!!!!!
How do you guys clean the calipers before applying the paint ?
I imagine there is brake dust and dirt on them, so it's important to clean that up for better results.....
I'm about to do mine, but I need to wait for warmer day. It's not a good idea to apply coats in 40 degree temps....

The duplicolor kit comes with a spray brake cleaner. Just spray it on and use a wire brush to clean real good. I didn't use any clear coat but I've read where you can. I don't think you'll need it.

I will post pics tomorrow. Used goof-off cleaner to clean the calipers with, that **** is an awesome cleaner...
And with VHT caliper paint you don't need any primer at all.
No freagin clear coat it will burn off and look like ****.

I haven't had ANY issues with my clear coated ones. I am sure if some guys I know can put it on their engine blocks with out issues you can put it on brake calipers too.

Why ITF would you want to put clear coat on calipers of a DD anyway. Calipers get hotter then eng. block......

I like the look of the red calipers on your car. But, I think it would look alittle better if you would have painted the brackets black. The red on the brackets makes them stand out to much for my taste. Otherwise I like it!

That's how i did mine in 2/tone.
