How much will paint cost?
Im contemplating painting my entire camaro over the summer. It had a few shotty touchup attempts and needs a tiny bit of body work so I would like to get it looking new. I got the supplies for body work.
I have all the tools and accessories for painting: gun, compressor, safety stuff, etc.
The car is black and I am planning on painting it black again either PPG or Dupont. How much paint will i need and how much clear coat? How much can I expect this to cost? I plan on doing every panel. I wont do jambs or under the hood.
Can i paint over the old paint without using primer?
Ive done single panel repairs up until now, this is my first time doing an entire car so i am curious.

PPG all day long.
I would get a gallon of both basecoat and clear. Both of which will be plenty
Yes you can paint over the old paint as long as it is sanded first. But unless you are lazy or have no flaws I would prime it with highbuild primer then block sand it at least once.
Cant really help you with prices, but I will tell you while PPG is , in my opinion, the best paint out) it is expensive. You get what you pay for.
Any more questions please dont hesitate to ask.

Now that you say it,
I actually think im gonna prime the entire car then block sand it, etc. How much primer should i buy? Will a gallon of primer do the trick?
Hmmm anyone know how much the paint would cost then?
