wd-40 works good to but then wash the car to get it off the paint. I use plenty of wax in the front so the bugs just spray right off.

Try some baking soda and water to take off squished bugs and bird ****. It neutralizes all the acids.

That thing is actually pretty abrasive, it's like high grit sandpaper. Be careful.

I wash with soap + water and then use a claybar, it sucks the bugs right up. Helps to keep it waxed so they slide off easier

I use the claybar and if it's really bad I shoot some simple green on and hose it off a few seconds later. Then I wash it and no problems. I'm sparse with this on the z though, on the trucks and stuff with a lot more bugs/dirt I use a lot more and leave it on a little longer.

i've noticed that non-abrasive polish works well too for removing bugs (simple polish like TW Color Cure or Mothers Polish etc.)

http://www.topoftheline.com/bugtarsponge1.html

you can cust this block into 4 seperate pieces,
works well and does not harm the surface,

soak some terry cloth or microfiber towels in warm-hot water and then lay them over the surfaces that are contaminated. it helps loosen splatters,

these 2 things helped great for a vette i detailed

^^ very nice! you'd think with a vette's nose being so low and aerodynamic, all the bugs would sail right over the top... but nope... nice detailing!
