The reason you *think* it still looks good 6 months later is because of all the *other* chemicals in the wax that aid in gloss, color, clarity, reflection, scratch filling, and leveling. Additionally, as most everyone quick details a car, almost every QD contains a small amount of carnauba to keep things fresh again.

I post this for no other reason than education. I dont really want to sell you raw carnauba, but if you really do want some why the heck not. There's just so much misinformation that goes out there, the record can be set straight by educated professionals and consumers knowing the facts. If you learned something, neat, pass it on. Have fun.

I have absolutely no idea of what you are talking about. Where is this information from? Is this information referenced from a wax manufacturer, chemist, or an authority that has published tests and experiments of wax formulations? List this source, the date of publication, the publisher, and page number that this information is from (and no web sites, please).

Otherwise, this text is just some heresay that drifted in the wind, that you thought would be helpful in posting.

My statement stands as is above. Whether you believe it or not doesn't concern me. Next time, make sure that you post something credible that can be referenced. Have a nice day.

I maintain a Do-It-Yourself wash where I work, and in relation to how easy the soap used can strip wax off, it really depends on who it comes from. If you can, try to find out who their soap supplier is, you can usually get their MSDS off their website, or contact their cust. support or public relations department to get a copy of it.

Ours, in it's concentrated form, will eat through a 3/4" stainless pipe in a little under 3 days, which is why we use a highly-corrosion resistant plastic to hold it/transfer it to the mixing tanks. Once it's mixed (we have a 4000:1 ratio in ours), it takes just about anything off the paint of the car, including bugs. I would personally worry that repetitive washing will start to strip it, but it you wax it at least once a month, I wouldn't worry too much if you are using a public DIY carwash. We usually try to get the people whose cars we actually personally detail to get it re-waxed every at least 2-3 months, depending on how they store it and how much driving they do. Florida sun, like most hot states, isn't exactly the easiest on paint.

I live at an apartment complex and am forced to wash my car at a car wash place. I only use their water, bring my own bucket and soap. Its a pain in the *** but I would never use any of their stuff other than the pressure washer. Have fun trying to fill a bucket with a pressure washer, bring your swim trunks.
