Rainx just helps bead the water off, reducing water spots. I like to use it every once in a while.
Imagine being able to clean your glass inside or out using a specific towel without a cleaner. The stubborn film that develops on the on interior comes from the plastic and vinyl components inside the car. Cigarette smoke is also a great contributor to this problem. For water spots on the exterior glass after washing and drying, you can also use #0000 steel wool.
I wouldn't use anything with ammonia or the like on the interior glass if it has tint on it though. The tint will get messed up.
