Sounds crazy, but Windex and some old newspapers works wonders(on inside and outside). Many pro detailers use this method, too. After I do this, I use auto polish to help keep the glass clean and shed water(on the outside). It always leaves me with real clean looking windows, even on a rainy day.

What type of polish do you use?

Clay bar on glass works wonders. Follow up with some rainx and you're golden.

what does the rainx do and what one? Is a clay bar just wax compounded together?

No, a clay bar is a separate entity. You can find it at pretty much any auto store. It is your best friend for getting surface contaminants off of your paint/glass/wheels.

Rainx just helps bead the water off, reducing water spots. I like to use it every once in a while.

Aside from using products to remove fine scratches and flaws using assorted glass treatment products, what do you wipe the glass with to clean it?

Imagine being able to clean your glass inside or out using a specific towel without a cleaner. The stubborn film that develops on the on interior comes from the plastic and vinyl components inside the car. Cigarette smoke is also a great contributor to this problem. Here is the link for that exact towel:

For water spots on the exterior glass after washing and drying, you can also use #0000 steel wool.

Yea it's ok on the windows. I use the Meguiars spray detailer a day or two after I wash/detail my truck for an easy clean up.

I wouldn't use anything with ammonia or the like on the interior glass if it has tint on it though. The tint will get messed up.

I always use a spray window cleaner called "Invisible Glass" with two towels. I spray it on, use any rag to wipe it off, and then use a microfiber towel to buff out any streaks. 60% of the time, it works every time...haha....it actually works 100% of the time.
