I know it's not a car, but...
I have limo in the rear, 15% on the sides, and 35% down the whole windshield.

It looks dark as hell, but it isn't. 15% isn't as dark as limo, so you will still be able to see in during the day. You won't see faces and stuff, but you can see outlines and the steering wheel etc. b/c you still have sunlight coming through the windshield. Tinting the windshield will keep a lot of that out.
During the day it just looks like the sky is slightly hazy. You get used to it quick. Night time is the same. I was driving on a dark country road at night and could still see fine.

The only thing that sucks is that I have polarized sunglasses and it makes everything look blue and purple through the tint lol.

if i had stuff in the back that was somewhat important (speakers, etc) id get 5% but since i never have anything back there i decided to go 15% all the way around so the windows wouldnt look different... if i had to do it again, id still do 15% all the way around...

Finally got a look at my car, looks like they just tinted over the dot matrix. Looks pretty good actually, so they must have cut them a bit to make it more adhesive. Good thing to because it I notice it looking like crap I would probably replace my rear windshield just to get rid of that stuff... because I'm crazy like that

Wish you guys would list what type of tint you used I have 28% now I think with 3m, and i need to redo a window.. and thinking about just redoing the whole car.. that 15-20% looks about right for what I want. Just cant decide if it is worth the hassle of finding another 3m installer around raliegh

i did 20 (17) on my truck, and it looks awesome. Since I'm not running a front plate in this great state of IL and thats illegal, as is my exhaust, I think I'm going to go with 30 on the car, 17 on the back though. I love my 3m tint though, great stuff.

Love the look man. Great looking truck.

I have 20% on sides and 40% on windshield. I love how it looks. On a sunny day and at night I have no problem seeing. The only crappy thing is they can't use a heat gun to shrink it because of the plastic in it. I think its one of the best mods I have done.
