Yea, its semi but the white car was at auto fair so it was all cleaned up, i think flat wouldnt look bad at all, i would do gloss since it shows scratches really badly and in the engine bay that happens a lot but it all looks good to me

If its done right then I must argue the opposite, i think it adds class to the engine bay, like seperating the engine from the car and the engine sitting in there like a ring in a ring box, i think it looks great

Im in the process of doing mine now...It is all sanded down...I will be painting tomorrow. So should I do semi or gloss with clear?

I would do semi, not that big of a difference in color and it hides flaws better

so in my case where my car is already black from the factory i wouldn't even have to paint the engine bay when having the exterior painted. This is a good thread cause my car is getting repainted next month and i was just gonna go black again..now you got me all confused and thinking like crazy!

I always thought it looked pretty slick! One of my buddies painted his while the engine was out and it looks good. Maybe he will post some pics!

No you still need to if you want the effect, its just base black in the engine bay from factory no clear at all, but its up to you

Well, I got about haf of mine sanded and in primer over the weekend. I will probably finish it up next weekend and post up some pics. I'm doing semi-gloss......
