To prep the rotors and calipers I just used a lot of brake cleaner and a lot of scrubbing, the rotors were new so I wasn't too worried about the paint sticking. As for the calipers we'll see, one had to be replaced both were fairly clean to begin with. The brake pads are Duralast golds, they have a stainless (or stainless looking) backing that you are seeing. I'm guessing the angle of my pics are not showing the machine grooves the new rotors had.
