69 Z28 badge install problem

so I bought NOS 1969 Z28 fender emblems for my Z...and I cut the posts off and sanded so its smooth, but I've noticed that the top and bottom of the emblem are slightly curved to follow the body line on the 69 fender. Do I try to heat it up and bend it ever so slightly or do I use a lil bit thicker 3M tape to try to compensate for it?

how did everyone else do theirs?

i put a towel over the emblem and stomped it flat

i did not take much but i put a towel over it and used a rubber mallet did not take much of a hit and it was enough
