Default Engine bay..

I just installed my polished Weiand/Lingenfelter and started cleaning up the engine bay yesterday, waxing and polishing. I was just wondering what yalls opinion is on making it cleaner and what little tricks I can do to make it less clustered. I know about the wire mod and I am going to do that but how about all the sensor wires..etc. I want this thing to look neat!

there are a few tricks to making it less cluttered, just depends on how crazy you want to get.. in my case, my car is mostly a track car, so i used weight reduction to my advantage..

moving the coil packs, the WIRE mod on the fender wells, i lost the air and heater core.. moving some things etc.. look around, find a theme and go with it..

You can throw some fuel rail covers on there. Re-route the hood latch wire. Get some stainless covers. Get rid of emissions...

Those factory fuel rails will polish right up with some Mothers Aluminum polish and a rag, and would look great next to the polished Weiand.

No need to even strip down the paint (or even to remove it from the intake if you don't want to). The thin coat of black will polish right off with a rag and Mothers.

Here are my old rails and injectors :

My answers are going to seem random, but as I throw them off of the top of my head I'm typing them.

-Wire mod
-hood latch mod
-relocate grounds out of site
-paint the coils/brackets
-disconnect the wires from the fuel rails and tuck them down
-paint the dipstick handle(yellow sticks out)
-paint the headlight brackets
-paint the bumpre support
-paint waterpump(mine stuck out bad)
-PS pump pulley(billet)
-put something over the PCM(especially where you spliced into the wiring)
-fuse covers
-polish/paint the TB
-clean the wires and conduit with soap and water(will help it look much better)
-remove teh tape/stickers from the brake lines and paint the lines silver or polish them
-polish the AC lines and clean up around the heater box
-polish the ps cooler tube
-redo the wires going to the TPS/IAC/air temp(new tape and covering makes a nice difference)
-FRCs if you like them(I do)
-remove TCS( I wish I could remove mine!)
-polish top of ABS block

Think thats it for now. Just throwing stuff out there for ya man and get ya thinking!

I actually like cleaning up my engine compartment(maybe I'm sick, lol)

You can get rid of the return fuel line.

Here's some food for thought... I think yours would look better w/ polished covers instead of brushed

I plan on getting all of those covers over time, i just dont have the money right now. Im up in the air about the fuel rails b/c if I can polish everything up and paint a few things i'd like to be able to see the motor instead of wires and hoses. Thanks NufNuffZ28 for that list b/c there are plenty of things i have left to do!

Here are my plans & parts to install durin the H/C install.

Polished Lingenfelter intake
Painted Silver MAF ends
Clear MTI lid
Paint radiator shround gloss black
Painted anodized blue valvecovers
Painted anodized blue throttle cable bracket
Painted anodized blue timing cover
Painted anodized blue stock fuel rails
Painted Silver water pump pulley(big dome lookin pulley)
MBA WS6 cylinder head plate
Chrome catch can w/braided lines
Painted Red coil packs (bodies red bolting part silver)
Painted Silver coil pack brackets
Chrome oil cap (ebay)
Might even hit the stock balancer with Silver since it's kinda rusty lookin.

All my painting stuff my cousin is doin & should be finished this weekend. Everything else on my list I already have waiting. I also want the Speed Inc. polished PCM cover, battery cover & fuse cover. I'll also probably try to find either polished or blue MBA fluid caps also. Then I'm done. Its a daily driver, but I want it to look good when the hood does come up.

i removed my AIR system, and i still plan to relocate the hood release cable and do the !WIRE mod. I still think that the FRCs make it look 10x cleaner.

thanks for all the suggestions guys, there are some really great ideas here! I agree that the fuel rail covers clean up a lot also, just not sure if I want to go that route or do the coil relocation kit.
