T/A hoods which one?

T/A hoods which one? i need some help picking out the hood for my 98 TA. I'm stuck between the raptor hood and the SLP HO hood, i like the raptor hood but heard it has fitment problems. does anyone have either of these hoods?

Re: T/A hoods which one? I think I like the raptor better, havent heard anything in regards to fitment issues. The mecham hood is badass too, but that is the hood that you will supposedly have problems with

Re: T/A hoods which one? I've got the SLP hood and love it. You won't find many problems with either hood, it's mainly going to be a decision based on what looks best for you. The two hoods are similar as much as they're different. I'm glad I went with the SLP hood. Not as many people have it, plus it looks way different than all the other ram-air hoods (the others start narrow in the front and get really wide towards the cowl where as the SLP starts narrow and ends narrow- very unique) But yeah, they're both hoods, I thin the determining factor for me was that SLP had a sale on their hoods when I was looking to get one, so I got it for 650 compared to 700 for the Raptor hood. I dunno, it's been a while

Re: T/A hoods which one? I've allways rather fab something myself than buy a ready made piece. I've always thought that parts for our cars were a bit on the expensive side. Before I ever saw the"ho hood" I cut out the horizontal fins off of my stock ws6 hood. I took some materials from a body shop freind and built a stronger center section & filled up the bumper piece a bit. I sanded around the worked on area and had a freind shoot it with paint. Cost me $60 & a case of bush light. http://photos.yahoo.com/richieg26 there's the pics for those interestd. What could fit better than the stock hood. I just come from a bit of an older school where you should try to build it before you try to buy it. Anyhow, just my thoughts, if you feel the need to buy a new one, go with the ho. It's got the meaner look to it. The raptor lloks cool on paper, but not that impressive in person.

Re: T/A hoods which one? I'd go w/ the H.O. hood. It is more unique and more agressive looking. I've only heard good things about the hood and every single one I've seen has fit perfect compared to the Suncoast hoods which I've yet to see a "good" one.

Re: T/A hoods which one? I think the SLP HO hood is horrible looking myself. I have seen several cars running around with Raptors (Suncoast is in the town I live it) and they look pretty sweet.
