Just put 14 32000mcd LEDs on perfboard and slid them in the rearview mirror:

I installed the GNTX-177 model in my car.
Here's what the wiring looked like:

I suggest if you're buying one make sure to get the pigtail and the temperature sensor with it.
Many mirrors for sale do not come with either of them and it can be a big headache finding the right stuff.

I'm buying a radar detector that has a compass and all those good doodads... do all my rearview should ever have to do is.... provide a rear view...

Most of these seem to come with Autodimming, just wondering what you all thought, my FB is a 'vert. Wondering if that will be problem with autodim?

I don't see why that would be a problem.
The autodimming feature is the best thing about the rearview mirror.
Why do you think it would be a problem?

Im eyeing that Gentex31 does anyone know if I'll be able to keep the courtesy feature (doors open/dim off) and just normal lights (manually turn on/off)?
