yeah good point, it seams like the tops of them have taken a beating from the sun and are fading, dont think they got enough attention when being waxed

I'm keeping mine on because here at the university parking decks there are just too many careless kids around (and too many ricers but that's beside the point). Yeah my paint is scuffed up and the fender is busted and all, but why risk dinging the car up even more and making that much more to fix later on?

Oh and BTW this thread is 7 months old

EVERY vehicle I've owned I've taken those damn strips off...my '89 Cutlass Supreme, my 2004 Trailblazer, my '99 Silverado and now my '02 Firebird. Here's a good reason why: When you wash your car, you can't get all the little dirt particles that get trapped between the strip/glue/paint, nor can you dry ALL the water out from that little space. Trailblazers and Silverados, for example, and two parallel strips of glue, one on top, the other on the bottom, that hold the strips on...and no glue to close off the ends. In 2005 when I took 'em off my 2004 Trailblazer, there was sand and water in the MIDDLE already! My '99 Silverado was full of wet mud underneath the strips! Imagine what this could/ does to your paint and body panels over time! The F-body cars have glue covering the entire stip, 'cause it's so small, but the glue dries out and eventually looses it's grip in spots and pits and hence holds the debris. Does this change anyone's mind? Also look at how you park. Can you park away from people, or is your work/school parking lot packed? Do you NEED the parking spot closest to the Walmart entrance? Well, that's my pennies. Swat

There was a thread in the paint section a few months ago, where the guy filled the body line on the doors (also shaved the door handles), but he left the line after the rear tires, and before the front tires, so it looked out of place. Maybe if he went ahead and filled it from bumper to bumper, it might look better. Ive never liked how they have the body line going from end to end... looks like the top half of my car lifts off like a toy model or something. But havent really thought of a way to make it look decent without it. I looked around for a bit, but couldnt find the pic of the middle section filled in... maybe someone else remembers the thread.

*EDIT* Here are some pics...

Actually I was thinking something similar... the hood vents from the LT1 Camaros seem like a good size, so if you just rotate them up and down, I bet they wouldnt look half-bad in the area where the T/A has its vents...
