I was considering doing this myself. Doesnt seem to be much harder to apply than tinting your windows. Any body out there done it, personally?

I wanted to do this but have heard different stories on what would happen if you took it off... ie: Discoloration, mess up the clear coat. My dad has it on his car.

Wow, really? I always had thoughts of covering the entire car with it so it would have real protection and preservation. It sounds like I was kidding myself?

thats stuffs junk. rocks will still chip through it and Florida love bugs eat right into it as well. might as well wrap the front end with packing tape.

http://www.carpretty.com/3mpaintprotectionfilm.htm

Edit: It's so popular in Canada and people swear by it. Canada's winter is really cold and people love it cuz of so much gravel on the road.

my friend had it on his 06 Evo MR... it was white.. after 8 months the stuff started to turn a yellow tint.. not much, but it made it look like ***.. he removed it since..

you know, we need to find out what Porsche uses.. because all their newer cars come with it from the factory.. especially the 996/997's 911 cars... never seen those fade or look bad.

I bet they'll tell us to bring it in and let them do it for us and charge us 3 times the price.

i looked into it... and in my opinion... how is a clear tapish cover going to protect it from a rock.... clearly it wont... and i heard same thing with the yelloish color... best thing to do here... is nothing... deal with the bugs n rocks... or get the front repainted

It works. I have a friend that has a shop and this is one of the products he installs. He has it on all of his cars and if he says it's good then I know it must be. He is more picky than I am. My father has the 3M stuff on his car and it works well.

It's not as simple as putting on tint. There is a lot involved to get the film to fit properly and conform to the contours of the bumper.
