Question about window Tint ##Help Help## Just bought an 00 Ta WS6. I noticed that the side wiondows are your normal 15% tint. On the other hand, the entire hatch appears to be tinted a little darker, but from the inside of the car, the tinti appears to be purple. You can't tell this from the outside, but as soon as u get in, its noticeable. Anyone know why the hatch tint has a purple appearance from the inside?
It could be several things. I tint windows at a local tint place, and purple tint can be caused by either cheap tint, the use of an ammonia based window cleaner (windex etc.) or simply that the tint is old. Even todays tint with its UV resistance can turn purple over time. Just depends on its exposure to sun! Just get it replaced and you'll be happy!
Have a shop put in some 3M tint, the tint that is on my 95 is guaranteed by either the shop or 3M for everything. Cracking, fading, turning purple. Its been on for 3 years now and no problems at 5%. Great tint to look at. Only thing is the inside of it says 3M on it..

my window turn purple like but by hatch is still dark after bout 6 years on my 02 ta , just got my windows re-tinted and its perfect now...i have 5% allover now .it looks awesome.i think the tint was old . RE-TINT IT !!

Change it. Purple shaded tint looks hideous...you see it on all the junker hondas and toyotas. People who leave tint on when it has separated and cracked make themselves look trashy as hell.
