Default rearview mirror/map lights....

seriously the lighting setup for the map lights in the rear view mirror is just about a good of an idea as cross-fire injection. what the **** is up with all the nasty *** black foam that gets everywhere and won't come off of your hands? And the whole festoon based light bulb is another crappy idea too. I don't understand why cars have bulbs that just plug in or snap into things, cars hit bumps, rattle, ect..And houses have light bulbs that screw into place yet a house rarely moves unless and earthquake or dumptruck is driving by your place. nasty, black foam? i took all my interior lights out from the mirror and rear, and I had no problems at all. I've replaced all mine with LEDs.

EDIT: in fact, i have two spare festoon style red LEDs that fit the mirror if anyone is interested...

replaced mine with LEDs and damn its bright now. They fell all apart when I went and replaced mine but I just situated everything where it should be and just called it a day.
