Default Trick switch/wiring setup

Here is my switch setup:

Extra Fog switch #1 = Halos on/off
Extra Fog switch #2 = Automatic headlights on/off

I also mounted 2 indicator lights to the gauge pod. Red LED = bottle heater indicator, Green LED = nitrous armed indicator. P.S. if you live around me and see me cruising with either of those indicators on, you better watch out

The momentary switch not labeled with LEDs is the mute button for my escort passport radar detector. I'm kind of **** about wires showing so a chord dangling from my windshield to my cigarette lighter was not an option.

Bought a hard wiring kit and took it apart:

Desoldered the LEDs and connected my own LEDs and momentary switch to match everything in my switch plate:

Circuit board mounted behind the switch plate:

Of course, the radar detector is wired to the ignition and turns on and off with the keys in/out of the ignition.

Custom mute button/LEDs in action:

A lot of people with aftermarket wiring know that after adding more and more wires, it can tend to get a little messy. Well, just here recently, I spent a good while re-wiring everything. Changed everything to 14 gauge wire and directly wired it to the fuse box with its own fuse (should have done it from the start). No more wires tapped into. This may seem a little cluttered and messy but with this amount of wires behind my switch panel it is actually very clean (a lot better than before)

The guts:

When I wanted to use my own 3 prong switch for the fans, it was not possible to ground a wire with a load prong. So I added a relay to work:

Then lastly the car was throwing a code saying the factory Fan relay was malfunctioning. So, I added a diode between the PCM and the high fans wire.

That's a really nice setup. What does the diode do for the code?

Well, the problem was the PCM sees a short because of that extra relay I added. It kept on throwing a PO481 code everytime I turned on the fans manually. The diode allows the PCM to ground the relay normally and prevents the PCM from seeing the ground when I operate it manually.

I agree with you on wiring everything so it looks very professional and those pics are awesome. what plastic dash piece did you use to hold all four switches (3 fogs and ASR I assume) so that it looks stock? did you just drill new holes in the old one? Once I get all the pieces, I will be working on something similar but the switches will be for other things.

If you just pop out that factory 'CAMARO' dash plague, there are holes the same size as the other two switches. Any fog light switches just mount the same in the holes

Where did you buy the switch? I am looking for one that is more than 4 switches.

Thanks,
Bill

Very nice setup. I like how the radar detector is hard wired with the ignition. Wouldn't be able to do that here (radar detectors illegal)!
