Default Overhead console

Anyone fab an overhead console for ther 4th gen? Got pics?

I want to make an overhead console out of fibeglass or carbon fiber that would integrate a V1 radar dectector, nitrous/linelock switches and honda engine start button. I think it would killer between the T-tops. I am designing one in AUTOCAD and hopefully can make it next semester..

I've been thinking about those. It would be awesome to have one of those and have the v1 be a hidden unit.

What would be even cooler is a flip-down video screen that can be used as a rear-view mirror with a camera in the back. You can also use it to watch movies, as a computer screen (AutoTap). Lots of cool stuff with the monitor. Oh and lots of cool switches and stuff.

Is that also how I control the surface-to-surface missiles for the "5 o'clock 500"?

now there's an idea!

I dunno I always thought it would be cool to have a video screen that you can use for jsut about anything. Currently I am installing a PC in my car which will have all my Mp3's. It will be hooked up to the monsoon and later on if I like, to some other head unit. The only thing missing is a good mounting location for the screen (I want it to look factory). So if we actually do get an overhead unit and it does what I like, I will be first in line.

That would be a very kool idea with or without a screen. Just make more holes for me to keep stuff in. How much would one of these run?

I'd thought about the flip down screen before I picked up my vert. If I did it, I was going to integrate a switch box which would let you see behind your car, or run your PS2 to it. Having the rear view camera also would let you remove your stock rear view mirror as well. I'm not recommending this, just saying it's an option.

It would be pretty tight to have something like that. A thermometer would be good too (like in some SUV's) a radar detector mound it a must, and a place for 3-4 switches. I would end up paying whatever the price was depending on how much I wanted it. But 250 or less is a good starting point

I just posted something like this on one of the "other" sites. I love the idea of the screen also. My idea was to have at least 4 switches up there. For the switches, there would be a relay breakout box under the dash. The box and the console would be connected via CAT-5 network cable. CAT-5 cause it's small, flexible, and current requirements are low due to the breakout box. Would also provide more than enough to power a V1 or other detector. May even run 2 runs of CAT-5 if nessisary.

Hope you don't park your car anywhere but your house, cuz those DVD touchscreens will get jacked if you don't carry them with you.

I bet an overhead console from a 3rd gen GTA TA would fit. The space between the t-tops on my car looks to be the same as my old '89.

I have been checking out materials and everything and it looks to be around 250.00 to construct one maybe less depending on what you are wanting molded into the overhead console.
