Default Does everyone run the Relay/harness kit with HIDs?

Do the ballasts really pull more amps than a normal headlight?
I can plug the factory headlight harness into the ballast and the hid bulb comes on...I mean, if it was going to pull too many amps it would blow the fuse.
anyone do this without a problem?
THANKS

Well, I went ahead and started to put the relay/harness in there.

I guess that the factory low beam and foglight(in my case, doing them both) harness is not used on one side? because you plug the other side in to the harness and it supplies power to both.
Someone who has done this will chime in soon.

I use the relay harness with my HIDs in both of my cars. I will always run the harness after all of the horror stories of fried wiring, damaged ballasts or simply the lights don't come on. HIDs only pull more power when they are first powered on after that they draw very little.

Answering your question, yes you will only use one of your factory plugs for the headlights and fog lights. I recommend you tape off the other plug since you will not be using it. The reason for only using one plug is basically so the headlight switch can trigger the the harness to operate the HIDs. Pretty easy install. You just need to find a good ground point for the harness. I hope this answers your question. Good luck with the install.
