Default Spray Detailing causes scratches!

Hey guys, i spray wax my car a lot, and it seems like its left a lot of scratches in the paint. I havent really ever waxed with a buffer since i got the car, is tht how everyone usually waxes there car? My dad has just a cheaper buffer, you dont need like an insanely fast one do u? And if i spend a lot of time buffing with wax, will those scratches, swirls come out, or should i use 3mm polish tht i have?

I sincerely doubt it's the spray wax. More likely it's the towels you're using to buff it out.

Are you sure the rags and paint are really clean before using the spray wax? And are you using spray wax or quick detail?

Use micro fiber towels. Your going have to use a 3 step system to get rid of the scratches. Mothers 3 step system works great. And try to use a porter cable buffer or a orbital buffer. But stop using what ever your using.

I pickup dirt on my car with a microfiber duster dampened with quick detailer then go over it with some ultimate quick detailer and a microfiber cloth. Haven't caused any more scratches that weren't already on there using this method.

sry guys, i forgot to add i ALWAYS use microfiber towels, and im wondering if im rubbing too hard or something. I was also wondering, wut do most people use when buffing their car, a towel, or buffer? Is it even worth buffing ur car with a $30 buffer, or should i buy an expensive one?

I use the P&C and am glad I bought it. It took out some major scratches on my b/f's Camaro and did wonders on my DD. I also had a few scratches on my car that have been there since I bought it that it took out. Dont waste your money on the $30 ones you can get at Advanced. I've since made some money on the side detailing other's cars with the P&C

Also you wont get every scratch out with the P&C but you can get out a good portion of them. Check out Autogeek.net they have a lot of helpful info there on the random orbitals

What I do, good write up. I never touch my paint with a terry cloth. Microfiber all the way and you should be fine.

your spray wax isnt making scratches. You are, when you either are washing it, drying it or waxing it. a $30 buffer wont do a damn thing but save you a little time when ou do a hand wax. If you want to remove defects, you need a real deal buffer
