Default Polished Aluminum wheels

I have Z06 polished aluminum wheels and I kinda let them go for a while and I think the ocean(salt) air is leaving white spots on them. It doesn't come off with hand polishing and mothers aluminum polish. Whats the best way to refinish these wheels. I also want to polish the entire wheel including the inner part that was never polished. Whats the best way to do this?

You're probably going to have to steel wool or 2000 grit your wheels then repolish them with mothers paste. My TTIIs have white spots on them from driving in the snow and I just dont have the time to take my wheels off one at a time to polish them.

Steel wool would work. I used it on my 10 spokes that I have for sale right now to clean them up after they were stained. Came out good.

Won't steel wool scratch the hell out of them. And are you talking repolish them by hand. What about polishing compound.

As long as you don't have clear coat on wheels, various fine grades of steel wool will be fine on polished wheels. I prefer steel wool over sand paper because it gets in the grooves better.

Steel wool will scratch it up but very-very finely. Make sure the steel wool is 0000 grade. And yes I do mean by hand in polishing them unless you can take them somewhere and they can do them for you. The stuff I use for polishing is Mothers powerball but use the paste instead of the liquid. I also use this product:
