I'm working on mine right now. First I melted the wire mesh back into place. I cleaned out all leaves and debris and then made sure the water can drain properly on the drivers side.
First I painted them flat black and the new uniform color made a big improvement in their looks.
Then I painted them gloss black, but the texture really makes it look bad.
Since I don't want to sand them down right now, I'm going to try some semi-flat black.
I'll post some pictures soon.
