Default Let's talk carpet....

Ok, so I am in the process of buying or at least finding places to buy all the stuff I want for my interior swap thats to take place over winter.

I'm goin to a all black interior. I have been looking around at carpet & found this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1982-...QQcmdZViewItem

They claim the carpet is made when you order it & is molded from a factory floor pan, so it should fit like a stock replacement. I don't have the money or desire to order a Ebony carpet from the dealer, so I'm lookin for a cheaper option.

Has anyone here ever used this company or heard of them or the quality of their product?? Their pricing is very attractive, I know that much.

Please discuss cause I know I'm not the only one that would like a decent carpet replacement weather it be a different color or matching color without breaking the wallet.

Thats the same place, but there is a decent difference in pricing on their site vs their ebay auction listing. I wonder whats up with that?? Should be the exact same carpet & quality right?? So why pay more for the exact same product??

I saw that ad on ebay a few weeks ago looking for other parts. Seems like it would work fine. I mean it is carpet, not performance parts. At worst, if it isnt right, send it back but for the price, you cant expect perfection. Be the first and post up some pictures and results...

There are a few of us running around with the StockInteriors carpet.
Here's a pic of the difference from the stock carpet:

Remember the carpet is premolded, not precut.
If you don't have the patience to cut a carpet stick with a stock replacement.

I'll get more pics up of the finished product later.

And here is a link that DopedZ probably meant to post in this thread (instead of the old one) to help you out...

Not meaning to change the subject but I have a question.

Do the 99's with the dark gray (graphite) interior have the same color dash as the 2000-2002's with the ebony interior?

No, the 2000-2002 dashes are darker.

What about the rear deck? The one that they have on their site is only for the passenger compartment but not for the rear.

I am going to bet the thinner one is the aftermarket. I would almost be willing to an aftermarket if it was the exact same colour and maybe softer. The stock carpet is rough in these cars.

This is not an aftermarket lightweight carpet.
And the StockInteriors carpet is way more 'plush'.

Here's a pic to show you difference in color, the darker one is the StockInteriors carpet.

They have both.
The eBay auction is for the passenger compartment.
You can order one that is the same size as the stock carpet.
(It goes up to about where the jack sits on our cars.)

I was a newb at first when it came to installing carpet.
So I completely hated the aftermarket at first.

Then I did a few tweeks and developed some patience and now I can say that the aftermarket is amazing.
I also installed 140sq.ft. of sound deadener with the carpet. Definitely in love with the combo.

Ok i have a question, im thinking of ordering from stock interiors, and i want to match my carpet to the dark grey color on my door panels and dash, would that be charcoal, agate(ebony), dark grey, or graphite? anyone know? it doesnt have to be exact but i want it to be as close as possible, if not maybe just go black?
