Filler panel bird Dilemma

Filler panel bird Dilemma
I recently purchased a new set of white decals to replace the red one's on my Trans Am's filler panel. I have brought the car to various tint shops to see if they could take the old one off and put on the new one and nobody wants to touch it. Now i did buy the firebird decal to replace the trans am bird and everyshop proceeds to tell me that even if they remove the old one that you will still see the lines of where the old bird used to be. They are afraid to use adhesive remover on the plastic and i dont know why. Is this something that anyone has any experience with? is it fairly easy to remove and replace yourself? any help would be appreciated.

get some plastic razor blades and peel the old one off you will probably have to buff the pillar after removing the glue then just stick the new ones on. adhesive remover will not hurt anything the panel might be plastic but it has a clear coat on it
