I used to have 5% on my third gen and it was too dark IMO. At night I had to roll the windows to see anything. I now have mirror tint on the SS which from what I remember is 15% but looks awesome.

I've got 5% on the windows and hatch. I love it. Only time I have to roll down my windows is at night when I want to back up.

Don't have to worry about cops here

15% on mine and love it...but i dont think it would be worth the money to go only 5% darker. If you are going to spend the money to have your windows re-tinted from 20% i would go to 5%...and i still barely see it worth doing to be honest

another thought... instead of replacing the 20% on the side windows and hatch, why not tint the windshield. That would make the whole car look even darker

Im going 5% on my NBM Camaro. I had 5% all around on my old 5 liter, and it looked great, and was easy to see out of.

+1 I think the only thing it needs is the Whistler mod, to go along with the dark corners and black accents. I think that would set it off perfectly..

You guys that are tinting your windshield got some big cojones. I've always thought about only doing half of the windshield because the brow sometimes is not enough nor low enough. I just dont like being messed with by the police, time is too short for the harrassment for me. Must be a *itch getting around the mirror as well.

35% on the windshield?! Man cojones is right. You guys must not be driving your cars at night w/ the front being tinted. I didn't even think that was legal in any of the 50 states.

Your lucky you don't have to mess with the inspections. I went to one place and the first thing they did was put a meter on my windows. I took my car down the road to someone else and didn't have a problem.

you get used to it, in my camaro it is rather dark, when i put the real HID's in the car that helped a lot. but everyone of my friends have their windshields tinted as well. the platinum/mirror tint on the windshield of my ram is really easy to see out of at night. i really don't get hassled by the cops since they all seem to know me in the area anyways. but usually if i do get pulled over for tint, they don't even notice the windshield. I work at a detail/window tint shop so having everything tinted is how every vehicle i've ever owned was. my old beater ranger had 35% on the windshield (black) then i tore it off and went with 50%, the 50% is easy to see in/out of, one cop that knows me on a first name basis pulled me over in my ranger for tinted windshield with the 50% and then he looked right at it and was like "oh i thought it was tinted, my bad take it easy matt"

it's illegal as hell though, and our tint manufacturer even frowns on us for tinting windshields. we just tell people we can't warranty anything with the windshield and we don't give a reciept when people get it done. the few people that get it done are already well aware it's illegal

4% I would lighten it up a little bit for the country. Driving in the city it is fine though. Got pulled over at a stoplight for it the first day I had my car lol (this was in PA). Cop said he could ticket me 150 per window! let me off though since I was military and told him I was taking it out of state in a week anyhow. The only thing I dont like is having to back up when it's dark as hell.

5% is dark at night but it's very worth it. The way it flows with the stock black 'roll bar', t-tops and the hatch window makes 5% look normal. Plus it's cool to not be seen in your car when you don't want to. It gets kinda old when people stare all the time.
Roll them windows up. **** em.

Yeah same here, i drive all the time at night with 35% on the front but i aslo did the HID's in the headlights and also in the fogs so its pretty easy.. sometimes its hard to see medians when turning and **** but other than that its totally worth it.

And on a side note im pretty sure its not legal in any state to have any % on your front..
