It was like that when I bought the car but you can take it to a body shop and they would do it. All they do is cut a small piece to cover the hole and weld it on. Then they use body filler and fill, sand and paint.

I'll have to get a pic of mine. Bought a universal manual one from Auto Zone for $12 bucks, and cut it down. My power antenna has been acting funky since I got the car, but it may just not like the aftermarket radio/cd player currently in. Either way, I dig the manual look better. Rain in the forecast so may not happen soon. Just waxed and cleaned the car up real well too!

I bought a shorty "stainless" one off ebay for my V6. It sucks and rusted on the top and bottom after about a month. I have a Billet Specialties one on my SS and love it. I actually bought if for my S10 Xtreme and pulled it off when I traded it in and put it on the SS. I don't have any good pics that shows the detail of it though. It's an 18" so it's not super short and retarded looking like some of these are.

I shortened my stock one to about 12". To get the ball off I just took some pliers and pulled it off. Then I put a lot of clear epoxy on it and glued the ball back on. After I let it dry for about a week, I took some sand paper and sanded down all the extra epoxy then painted the whole thing with black spray paint.

I really REALLY wanna take it to a body shop and get the thing completely removed, but I can't justify paying a couple hundred to do that when the mod I did to it already cost me nothing.

I know what you mean. If it wasn't done to my car when I got it I would have done the same thing you did.

You know guys, if you don't like the bitviper one then just leave it at that. Don't sit here, put it down, and insult it.

I like the way it looks and would have bought one but I got the same affect for free by just modding mine.

You can just place a pair of pliers underneath and pop it up..then putting it back on is dependant on how cleanly you've cut the antenna..should just be able to just press it on
