Default Whislter HELP!!!!!!!!

Hey guys ive been a lurker on here for a long time and i gotta say its the best F body forum ive been across....I have a 2000 camaro Z28. I decided to do the whislter mod today and every thing was going good until it was paint time. I wanted to do the first light coat and the pant didn't stick and ran really really bad i used Dupli-color paint. any body got suggestion on what to do???

You should get some sand paper and rough up the surface a bit to help it stick. I don't remember which one I used (I think 500 grit?..), but I didn't have any runs and the final product looked smooth. Just remember to apply thin coats and let them dry in between. I let mine dry over night too, before I put them back on.

i used steel wool -- i believe it was the household one

works great on the ridges

it got the job done - but it could of been better

cool thanks guys...i freaked out for a min. i used steel wool and i guess it wasn't enough. i wasn't sure if 800-600 grit would be too rough for that surface but i guess imma have to give it a try cuz it looks like crap
now...

steel wool should be enough you just need to make sure you get a good wipe down with it.

steel wool, steel wool, steel wool, and mroe steel wool, it will solve your problems, dont use sandpaper

thanks guys...so right now the paint looks better but still a lil rough. imma try and knock it down some with steel wool and well see how it goes. cant wait to finish and be done with it.
