Yes this is true, I did get pulled over for mine he told me to take them off before it turns dark out. I figure its also illegal to burnout, speed, window tint, but you live life once. If the cop really wants to be a dick he could give you a ticket. I guess I am just not too worried about it but that is just my opinion.
