^^use blue painters tape, and for some nice edges use that tape that detailers use to do pinstriping.....it can be purhcased at most hobby stores

The lights won't burn. The melting point is a LOT higher than 225.

Looks sharp! I'm scared though to do this mod on my own, I'm sure I would screw something up and be without headlights for a few weeks lol

What kind of paint did you use? I assume rattle can, but high heat or just regular any brand black?

Just the regular 96 cent Wal-Mart paint.

Blue painters masking tape isn't going to take the silver finish off of those lights...that tape barely sticks to itself...but it's sticky ENOUGH to mask for painting.

yeah and for the edges where the ridges meet the reflectors, use that plastic tape I metnioned above, that stuff works great

i did mine a while back and i did the full whistler mod and the back reflector stuff came off... like i heated it up too much... but i only did 200 degrees for like 20 mins... anyone help me to know why?
