While I realize its a little too late for it, I'd ditch the hood, the whole massive square thing doesn't flow too well with camaro lines. The paint looks great though, nice touch. I agree with mctullis, that less is more. Too many add ons and it will look like a cobbled together piece of poo. Subtle touches make all the difference.

i think it looks really good, but the grill for the exterior, and for the interior.. you gotta do something with the radio.. it sticks out WAY too far.. and some shiney tire stuff

I'd paint the side mirrors then leave it, but if you take in too many suggestions, you lose a bit of personal touch and you end up with too much crap on a car. Do what makes you happy and what makes you feel comfortable when you get into it.
I've always gone the 'less is more' route and um: http://www.mctullis.com/trophy.jpg
*cough*nationalcarshow*cough*
Don't go overboard...50% of the cars at Autorama i just shake my head at and wonder 'why?'.

P.S. I've always liked the looks of 98+ SS spoilers and it'd finish off the flow of your car all the way to the tail. But that's just me.
He is right.. you can have too much of a good thing.. the problem most people dont think about mods in relation to OTHER mods.. so the visual aspect of the car wanders about lost in a sea of clutter.. If you were to plan it right you could have HUNDREDS of mods and people wouldnt notice them individually.. Heck, look at my car.. I have a TON of mods and I still get people asking if it came that way..

Mods should help clean up the look of the car or add a touch of visual appeal (painted calipers).. Plan, try, think and sit and stare at your car.. if you put something on and dont like it then take it off and sell it, dont keep it just because its already bought.

I wouldnt mess much with the exterior.. An SS spoiler and someday a hood.. thats one area of the car thats easy to clutter up..

We had a lot of guys on this board with mad-skilz when it comes to making an fbody look good.. take the ideas presented and tweak them in your own personal way. Oh, and have fun

I agree with Steve completely and his car is the most gorgeous Camaro i've ever laid eyes on. (I bet you never get tired of hearing that) And while he may have an appearance mod list longer than a 16 year old girl's cell phone bill, at first glance no single mod stands out as out of place and everything fits perfect. We've both gone the no color on the car except for the taillamps route. But don't feel any need to rush out and buy a bunch of stuff just cuz shows are coming up..believe me, it'll stand out hardcore as it is. Do a lot of semi-free stuff like polishing everything you can and it makes a big difference. And guys, she has a flame job..don't say crap like 'get a new hood'.

I definately don't want to make my car too "busy". I have always really liked that hood. It is just the right height that I can still see over and it is different. In my opinion the hood just looks mean and that flame job fits it well, so I think the hood is a keeper! Besides, I don't want to fork up that much money on a new paint job (I didn't hit the lotto). I thought about changing the billet grill to a wings west painted insert. I was going to go with a more billet look to the entire car (under hood, interior, etc.) and that is why I went with that grill over the other. The more I look at it though... the more I think I like the wings west insert more. As for the painted mirrors, the original painter (not graphic artist) put a big chip in the mirror so I didn't want them painted because now I have to replace it. Once I buy new mirrors, I will definately have them painted by someone else. I thought about getting a different spoiler, but I didn't want to be like everyone else and get the SS spoiler. However, I don't want that big ricer wing either. I haven't seen any other aftermarket spoilers that look good. The interior flames might be a bit much for my taste. I would like to see something similar on someone elses car, but finding that might be a bit difficult. The embroidery on the head rest is definately a good idea that I will look into. I am already working on a new radio unit that will fit the dash a bit better. No luck finding one that I enjoy as much as my current one yet. I looked at a few billet ***** but they look cheaply made and I need to figure out what I am going to do with the nitrous switches (see bottom panel of interior picture). Any suggestion on where I should get the billet *****/interior pieces? Which rotors and what color calipers? I think that is a good start. I am also saving up to change alot of things under the hood and of course performance comes first but I think the suggestions above should be okay for now and I should still have enough for the new engine mods. I agree with too much appearance mods would be a bad thing... so I am trying not to go overboard. It is just hard knowing when enough is enough... I am sure many of you understand that.

BTW- Sorry for writing a book.. I just talk alot!

Personally I dont think the wheels go with the car, nor would any polished/chrome wheel. I think the satin finished or even black centered FM5s would look killer Also the same thing everyone else has said- paint matched grille, ss spoiler, rotors/calipers and mirrors.

-edit- did a quick photoshop. only grille I could find was from the ls1 motorsports car, so excuse the intercooler

I think I recognized the flame job, as well as the fact that getting a new hood wasn't really a realistic option....

Zangel, it was mentioned above by Steve that often he gets the question "did it come like that", and I think that is a fantastic benchmark. Your exterior shows off your individual side, and I think a toned-down interior would be a great compliment to that. My recommendation would be smart and conservative use of billet to set off the silver aspect of your car. I think the carbon fiber would clash with the outside. A car I often think of as a great benchmark for looking "cool" is the impala SS (lt1), that car is really just a 9c1 caprice, but by tastefully adding, and tastefully SUBTRACTING (i.e. the chrome and other outside adornments), Chevy was able to take a generally normal looking car and give it a mean, agressive look. I bet someone making those same touches to a caprice prior to the release of the Impala SS would have recieved alot of praise and won many a show. Of course, Chevy releasing it to the masses made it mainstream, but I think the concept serves my point well.

I hope my comments were not misconstrued to you by others' interpretation that they were "crap" and "telling you to get a new hood". your car looks great and I think its safe to say that with a few MINOR touches and some elbow grease you have a serious show contender.

Keep up the good work.

It was a general statement, don't get your shorts in a wad there Super.

BTW, someone did do it to a 9C1 back in the day and John Moss was at the guy's neighbor's house and stood there looking at it and blam. Moss's development of the Impala should be the highest amount of praise ever.

You're a woman

Things I would do:

1. Seat embroidery in maroon
2. Billet accents on the interior (carbon fiber would clash)
3. Silver or polished calipers and brackets
4. Black radio (1.5 DIN so there's no space)

An SS spoiler and remove the verticle supports from under the wing. (maybe maybe not, a photo shop would help). The sterring wheel like said earlier. and maybe paint some of the interior parts to match the cranberry color of the exterior. Shave the antenna and add white face gauges. MBA makes a bad *** looking shift **** that looks like its for a stick shift with no button on tho, but to shift it into gear you push the whole **** itself down.

Thanks for the photoshop. That really gives me a good idea about the grill and even the intercooler. I really appreciate that. I actually just switched from silver painted wheels to chrome wheels because I figured that would look better (add a little bling, bling)
I really like the look of the painted calipers and the mirrors. If I was to get something embroidered on the headrest, what do you think it should be? Should I just go with "Z28" or a bowtie symbol? Also, where do I get the billet accessories from?

I bet it would lookcool if you did the front caliper silver and the rear caliper maroon. I think that's be neat if done well, but if not done well you run the risk of looking cheesy. I like Mctullis' idea for the head rests, make sure its subtle though, and I think sticking with just one color on the stitcking would serve you well, but also, again, if done nicely, you could do like a maroon bowtie with silver wings. You have a unique color scheme, work with it!

I would agree with the mirrors and a GOOOOD spit shining. Thats all I would do. I am with McTullis on the "less is more" I like a sleek look. I don't care much for all the bling here and there stuff. I might would work on some of the under the hood stuff(like cleaning up some of the stock wiring and stuff).

Lots of great suggestions, I would for sure paint the side mirrors.

I'd also give consideration to painting the roof bar maroon too.

Oooooo! I like that idea! Or better yet, since the front caliper is right where the flame job ends she could do a maroon front caliper with silver flames heading back with the flames on the fender. Then just blank maroon on the back. Painting calipers is EASY too, just get some high temperature (engine block) paint from a parts store and don't forget that clear coat!

First paint the side mirrors, then get a SS wing or something on that car Because the hood looks pretty good but a SS wing is a MUST IMO.

'have not read all posts'

get rid of those stickers in your windshield, loose the radar dector wire, get an aftermarket steeringwheel and any other interior dress up parts, make sure the car is 100% clean inside and out, and make sure you OPEN EVERYTHING up for the show, hood, doors, trunk, friken glove box and all!, they judge on how open the car is, I've seen nicer cars loose because they werent opened up, j/k about the glove box
