I just got H3 8000K upgraded into my fog lights. The ignition module is separate from the ballast box. When I turn on the fogs a loud electronic sound is produced when I turn them on. Is this common with an aftermarket HID kit or did I hook something up incorrectly. I'll have pics up soon, they look killer.

Is there noise being introduced into the car? HIDs do make an electronic noise when they are turned on. Also how did you run your power wire? I suggest you run the power wire to the battery and not the fuse box.

Make sure the there is no metal to metal contact with the ballst and the chassis of the car. It will make a very loud noise if so. My fogs are on a relay from the battery and my headlights are plugged straight into the harness. My fogs give no noise at all, but my headlights produce a faint hum throught the radio.

I have the ballast spliced directly into the factory fog light harness. I figured it would be best going this way to utilize the factory relay, and fuse. They make a noticeably loud zap sound when they light. After that they are really quiet. I can live with the sound, I'm just not sure if its normal.

its normal i have high and lo 4300 hids and they do that on my 87
