Default Need help with autometer gauge

I am installing an oil temp gauge and tranny temp gauge in a-pillar pod. i seen the forum where it says where to install tranny temp, but where is the service port plug. also, where can i install oil temp gauge. do you have to install in pan or is there somewhere better. anybody have any advice or diagrams. any help is greatly appreciated.

My b/f installed an oil temp gauge and oil pressure gauge this fall along with a water one also. For the oil temp he did install it in the pan but had some trouble with it leaking. I emailed Autometer about it and they sent me a pdf with some info on installing them. Let me see if I can find it...

for the tranny temp is your car an automatic or manual? for an auto http://shbox.com/1/a4_plug.jpg . As far as the oil i have no clue, i have had my gauges your a year and the oil temp still is not hooked up. But supposedly there is some place near the oil filter were you drill the hole bigger and tap into it.

For my transmission temperature gauge I did what was mentioned above.
For my oil temp. I tapped into the piece above the oil filter.

yeah same here it's like gm intended for their to be an external trans temp gauge

sweet i am glade i looked at this thread i have had a oil temp gauge in my car for over a yr now without it hooked up
