Rusty Rotors!

No, not a quote from the 60's Batman series but a problem im having since I put on my new rims. The center of my rotors is developing a rust and it looks horrible, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a way to deal with this, like if painting is an option or not (obviously not the surface of the rotor), and if so whats a good rust proof paint. Thanks!

just paint that part black......thats what i did

wire brush them then paint with that "rust to black" paint (available at Autozone/pepboys). then cover with paint of your choice

Get high temp paint from Dupont.

I had the same problem. I took them all off, put them in my blast cabinate, then purchased Dulpi-color high temp black. 2 years and still looks great.

Wow you're like the only other guy that I've ever seen paint their calipers silver like I did. Everyone always paints them red, I like black and/or silver.

yeah i woudl just paint them black. i sanded mine and put clear coat on them but after a year the rust came back.

Yes, stock calipers.

I don't care for red calipers unless you've got a red vehicle or have red as your accent color. I went with black/white/silver as the colors on my car.

Looks good GetGone. Nice fender flag too! I'm thinking of switching to Gloss Black with a silver "Camaro SS" decal.

Excuse the rotors, they get discolored after a fresh wash.

Just replace them with Centric units, come e-plated black on the hats out of the box. They're priced VERY reasonably and you won't have to spend hours masking and painting. I wish I had found them before I spent the time painting mine.
