gauge power source
gauge power source i have autometer gauges and i have the light hooked up with my radio its ok but it only goes off when i open the door is there a way to wire it up so it goes off just when i turn the key off?
You wired it to a source that runs off the auxiliary power, so technically it'll time out and go off when your aux power shuts off. I don't know where mine is wired to as it was pre-wired, but if you are just talking about illumination, then you want to hook it up to somewhere that the light **** for the car switches.
pull the gauge cluster off and hook it up to the pink wire in the guage connector or you can ty it into the pink wire under the steering colum this is the switched ignition wire.
