First time waxing questions?
First time waxing questions? Hey guys, I got my car a few months ago, 2001 black/black WS6 and I am wanting to wax it in the next few days. What is the best wax out there besides zaino? I was thinking Meguires, but what kind of meguires is the best? What all do I need to do to get the most out of it? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! What is the full procedure to get the best shine? Also, what can I use to clean my 01 WS6 wheels? I heard they have a clearcoat on them, so I wanted to know if there is anything out there that is safe to clean them with? Anyways, any tips are great, I'm hoping to do it tomorow morning since it is my only day off work. But thanks again guys, I really appreciate the help, and sorry this is so long!
Re: First time waxing questions? If your goal is to use a wax for an unbeatable shine yet be able to keep is simple and get products at local stores I would recommend the Meguiars product line.
Make sure your cleaning water is clean, mitt is clean, drying cloths, applicators and anything else that touches the car. Swirls are a pain you'll soon dread.
Use Meguiars Glaze (two coats) and one coat of Meguiars high tech yellow wax and I'm pretty sure you'd be suprised.

Re: First time waxing questions? I know you said besides zaino but i have to say I too was a skeptic. Since switching to zaino I cannot belive the shine, nothing like looking at a door and seeing your self or looking at the hood and watching the clouds. Black cars are a pita to kkep clean and not all scratched. Before zaino I used maguiers and never disliked it but I can tell the diffrence even in pictures between zanio and meguiers.I tried zymiol once and didnt care for it it left kind of a greasy shine. Just remember to use clean water clean mits clean quality tag less towels and keep all the damn cats off your hood.
Re: First time waxing questions? I use Meguire's Gold Class and I think it has a shine that is VERY close to that of Zaino. Put a few coats on and you'll be amazed at the outcome. Gold Class is the best wax i have ever tried and can be found at just about any auto parts store. Just get Meguires Gold Class and be done with it.

Re: First time waxing questions? ta12sec, zymol left you with a greasy shine because you did not spritz it with water and wipe after buffing the wax off (it says to do this on the back of the bottle). It is very important to do this with not only zymol but any wax. Try it with your meguiars, mothers, zymol, whatever, and you will see that it more evenly distributes the wax coating so that you do not see the marks where you buffed in direct sunlight. As far as off-the-shelf WAXES go, I have yet to try anything better than zymol cleaner wax. As far as higher end waxes go pinnalce souveran and zymol estate glazes are probably the best. Keep in mind, most especially ona black car, that prep work (polishing and glazing) makes more of a difference than wax does. I urge you to try menzerna polishes if you want to take it all the way for the ultimate shine.
